Singapore advised its citizens to defer all foreign travel plans as it reported 47 new coronavirus cases today. Most of the cases were imported ones, taking the total number of infections in the country to 313.
The new cases are the highest reported in Singapore in a single day. Media reports say that of the new infections, 33 are imported and include 30 returning Singapore residents who were infected
overseas.
These imported cases comprise citizens, permanent residents and long-term pass holders.
As part of enhanced efforts to tackle the spread of COVID-19, the Health Ministry has advised Singaporeans to defer all foreign travel.
Singaporeans returning home from overseas will have to serve a 14-day self-isolation.
