Tamil Nadu detects 5,684 new COVID-19 cases and 87 deaths

In a statement issued here on Monday, the health department said the State recorded around 5,684 new infections were registered, taking the total tally to 4,74,940 of corona infections till date.

The total number of Covid-19 patients who succumbed over the past 24-hours was 87 taking the



death toll of the State to 8,012.

On the positive side, 6,591 Covid-19 patients were cured and discharged from various hospitals in the state. 

The state capital Chennai record 988 new Covid-19 infection, While other districts registered 4,696 cases with in 24 hours.
