The Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu continue to spike. On Tuesday, the state registered 509 fresh cases taking the total number of cases in the state to 9,227. Three deaths on Tuesday took the state toll to 64.
The maximum number of cases on Tuesday were reported from Chennai. Within a day, the
state capital identified 380 new patients of Covid-19. So far, Chennai has registered 5,262 cases.
Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi K Palanisamy has said that the spike in Chennai cases is because of the Koyembedu Wholesale market cluster and the government is working towards curtailing the spread of the virus.
