Tamil Nadu reports 1,515 new Coronavirus cases

Tamil Nadu reported 1,515 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, taking the total count to 31,667. However, the active caseload is 14,396. After recovery, 604 people were discharged from hospitals yesterday. The recovery rate remains at 54.5 per cent. 18 patients succumbed to the disease taking the total fatality to 269. The mortality rate has marginally



gone up to 0.85 per cent.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu has not joined its peers in opening up religious places for the public. As the state is one of those having the maximum caseloads, the government seems to have decided to take a call on the date of opening later.
