Tamil Nadu sees 452 new COVID-19 cases and three more fatalities, taking the caseload to 8,48,275 and the toll to 12,460, the health department said on Sunday. Recoveries eclipsed new infections with 460 people being discharged, taking the cumulative number to 8,31,706, leaving 4,109 active cases.
Chennai accounted for the maximum infections with 154, taking the city's total to 2,34,345 till date. The metropolis also accounted for a little over one-third of the COVID-19 fatalities at 4,138 deaths. Two of the three deceased, including a 40-year old man from Chennai, did not have any pre-existing morbidity.
