Hyderabad: The COVID-19 count in Telangana continued to remain grim with authorities reporting 4,009 cases and 14 fatalities on Sunday.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the State have now gone-up to 39,154 while the cumulative number deaths so far is 1,838.
On Sunday, the daily number of COVID-19 rapid antigen tests, which hovered between one lakh and 1.26 lakh tests in the last few days, dropped to 83,089 tests out of which results of 5104 samples are awaited. With 4,009 new cases, the cumulative number of positive cases has now reached 3,53,433.
The surge in COVID-19 cases during the second wave continued across the state. Areas under GHMC have reported 705 new cases while the neighbouring district of Medchal Malkajgiri reported 363 cases. A total of 336 new COVID-19 infections were reported from Rangareddy while 360 new infections were reported from Nizamabad. A total of 175 COVID-19 cases were reported from Jagtiyal, 115 in Kamareddy, 135 in Karimnagar, 113 in Khammam, 129 in Mahabubnagar, 111 in Mancherial, 264 in Sangareddy, 125 in Siddipet, 146 in Warangal
Urban.
In the last 24 hours, 1,878 positive patients have recovered, taking the total recoveries in the State to 3,14,441 with a recovery rate of 88.46 percent, while the countrywide recovery rate was 86 percent. So far, a total of 1,18,20,842 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 3,55,433 have tested positive and 3,14,441 persons have recovered.
The COVID-19 positive cases reported from the districts included 72 from Adilabad, 49 from Bhadradri, 705 from areas under GHMC, 175 from Jagtiyal, 34 from Jangaon, 22 from Bhupalpally, 32 from Gadwal, 115 from Kamareddy, 135 from Karimnagar, 113 from Khammam, 25 from Asifabad, 129 from Mahabubnagar, 36 from Mahabubabad, 111 from Mancherial, 60 from Medak, 363 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 26 from Mulugu, 33 from Nagarkurnool, 58 from Nalgonda, 34 from Narayanpet, 90 from Nirmal, 360 from Nizamabad, 39 from Peddapalli, 80 from Siricilla, 336 from Rangareddy, 264 from Sangareddy, 125 from Siddipet, 69 from Suryapet, 65 from Vikarabad, 39 from Wanaparthy, 49 from Warangal Rural, 146 from Warangal Urban and 20 from Bhongir.
