Hyderabad: The daily surge in new COVID-19 infections continued in Telangana with health authorities reporting 6,206 new positive cases and 29 fatalities on Thursday.
The number of new COVID-19 cases and deaths between Wednesday and Thursday were the largest ever in Telangana during the Covid pandemic.
For the first time ever, the number of positive infections has also crossed the 1000 mark in areas under GHMC.
With this, the total number of active cases has reached 52,726 while the total number of fatalities is now 1,928.
As on Friday morning, 16,567 COVID-19 positive patients are receiving treatment in hospitals while 36,159 positive persons are in home isolation of Covid Care Centres. The overall number of Covid infections so far in Telangana has reached 3,79,494.
Areas under GHMC have recorded 1,005 cases, Medchal-Malkajgiri reported 502 cases and 373 new cases were reported from Rangareddy. Between Wednesday and Thursday, authorities conducted 1,05,605 antigen tests while results of another 5,531 samples are awaited.
In
the last 24-hours, 3,052 positive patients have recovered, taking the total recoveries in the State to 3,24,840 with a recovery rate of 85.59 percent, while the countrywide recovery rate was 83.9 percent.
So far, a total of 1,22,81,027 COVID-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 3, 79,494 have tested positive and 3,24,840 persons have recovered.
The COVID-19 positive cases reported from the districts included 121 from Adilabad, 162 from Bhadradri, 1005 from areas under GHMC, 257 from Jagtiyal, 109 from Jangaon, 53 from Bhupalpally, 43 from Gadwal, 188 from Kamareddy, 197 from Karimnagar, 152 from Khammam, 68 from Asifabad, 271 from Mahabubnagar, 102 from Mahabubabad, 226 from Mancherial, 136 from Medak, 502 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 41 from Mulugu, 196 from Nagarkurnool, 111 from Nalgonda, 44 from Narayanpet, 107 from Nirmal, 406 from Nizamabad, 94 from Peddapalli, 138 from Siricilla, 373 from Rangareddy, 185 from Sangareddy, 215 from Siddipet, 109 from Suryapet, 151 from Vikarabad, 92 from Wanaparthy, 103 from Warangal Rural, 94 from Warangal Urban and 155 from Bhongir.
