Hyderabad: The second wave of Covid-19 pandemic has continued to remain intense in Telangana with health authorities reporting 6551 new Covid infections and 43 fatalities till Sunday. The death toll of 43 across Telangana is the largest single-day surge since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The total number of active Covid cases in Telangana has reached 65, 597 out of which by Monday morning 19, 416 positive patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals and 46, 181 positive cases are in home isolation or institutional care. The cumulative number of infections has now gone-up to 4, 01, 783 while the total number of fatalities has reached 2042.
 
The impact of the second wave of the Covid is across the State with officials reporting more than 100 cases in 19 districts. The areas under GHMC, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Rangareddy districts combined have reported over 2, 500 cases in the last 24-hours.

The number of Covid rapid tests taken-up by authorities between Saturday and Sunday, dropped from over a lakh to 73, 275 out of which test results 4176 samples are awaited. So far, a total of 1, 25,



66, 674 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 4, 01, 783 have tested positive and 3, 34, 144 persons have recovered.

In the last 24-hours, 3804 cases have recovered, pushing the cumulative number of recoveries to 3, 34, 144 with a recovery rate of 83.16 percent in Telangana and 82.6 percent across the Country.

The Covid-19 positive cases reported from the districts included 88 from Adilabad, 164 from Bhadradri, 1418 from areas under GHMC, 276 from Jagtiyal, 65 Jangaon, 57 each from Bhupalpally and Gadwal, 110 from Kamareddy, 222 from Karimnagar, 118 from Khammam, 42 from Asifabad, 226 from Mahabubnagar,  138 from Mahabubabad,  152 from Mancherial, 79 from Medak, 554 from Medchal-Malkajgiri, 25 from Mulugu, 122 from Nagarkurnool, 90 from Nalgonda, 47 from Narayanpet, 26 from Nirmal, 389 from Nizamabad, 52 from Peddapalli,  121 from Siricilla, 482 from Rangareddy,  368 from Sangareddy, 268 from Siddipet, 69 from Suryapet, 137 from Vikarabad, 96 from Wanaparthy, 113 from Warangal Rural, 329 from Warangal Urban and 51 from Bhongir.
