Telangana reported 2,579 new Covid-19 infections and nine fatalities on Monday, taking the overall toll to 770 and the cumulative number of positive cases to 1,08,670. The total active cases as on Monday night in the State was 23,737.

In terms of ramping up the number of Covid tests, health officials managed to cross the 50,000 mark. Between Sunday and Monday night, there were 52,933 Covid tests done while results of 763 samples are pending.

A total of 1,752 persons recovered by Monday, which has pushed the overall number of recoveries in the State to 84,163 at a recovery rate of 77.44 per cent while the countrywide recovery rate was 75.27 per cent.

So far, a total of 10,21,054 swab samples have been tested in the State. According to the health bulletin, the mortality rate in the State was 0.70 per cent while the countrywide figure was 1.85 per cent.

active Covid positive patients, 17,226 patients were under home isolation while 6,511 positive cases were in institutional care.

The Covid-19 cases reported from the districts include 34 from Adilabad, 83 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 295 from areas under the GHMC, 98 from Jagtiyal, 46 from Jangaon, 12 from Jayashankar Bhupalpally, 47 from Jogulamba Gadwal, 64 from Kamareddy, 116 from Karimnagar, 161 from Khammam, 10 from Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, 69 from Mahabubnagar, 81 from Mahabubabad, 104 from Mancherial, 42 from Medak, 106 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 16 from Mulugu, 48 from Nagarkurnool, 129 from Nalgonda, 19 from Narayanpet, 28 from Nirmal, 142 from Nizamabad, 85 from Peddapally, 59 from Rajanna Sircilla, 186 from Rangareddy, 30 from Sangareddy, 92 from Siddipet, 78 from Suryapet, 23 from Vikarabad, 56 from Wanaparthy, 31 from Warangal Rural, 143 from Warangal Urban and 46 from Yadadri Bhongir.
