Telangana reports 1,178 new infections of COVID-19

Telangana continued to improve its Covid-19 testing ability with health authorities on Saturday reporting 11,062 tests and 1178 new Covid-19 positive cases. Nine Covid-19 persons have also died in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 348.

Of the positive cases, 736 persons from Hyderabad tested positive, 125 from Rangareddy and 101 from Medchal tested



positive. The authorities also discharged 1714 persons on Saturday, which has taken the overall recoveries to 20,919 while the number of active cases has remained on 12, 135.

Overall, since the outbreak of Covid-19, the state health authorities have tested 1,62,171 samples out of which 1,28,769 samples have tested negative while 33,402 tested positive.
