Telangana reports 157 coronavirus cases

Hyderabad: Telangana recorded 157 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total positives to over 2.97 lakh, while no deaths saw the toll remain at 1,623, the government said on Saturday.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for most number of cases with 27, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri 15 and Rangareddy with 12, a government bulletin said, providing details as of 8 pm on February 19.

As many ast 157 people were cured of the disease.

The total number of cases stood at2,97,435, while recoveries



were 2,94,097 and 1,715 patients were under treatment.

With the testing of 23,702 samples on Friday, the cumulative number of specimens examined so far rose to 84.33 lakh

The samples tested per million population was over 2. 26 lakh, the bulletin said.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0. 54 per cent, while it was 1.4 per cent at the national level.

The recovery rate at 98.87 per cent was against the national average of 97.3 per cent.
