The State reported 51 new cases on Tuesday, out of which 37 were from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits and 14 were migrants. There were two deaths as well, both from the GHMC limits.

According to the 9 pm bulletin from the Health department, 21 persons were discharged on Tuesday. The two deaths included one of a 61-year-old male from Moosa Bowli, who had co-morbidities like hypertension, and of a 65-year-old male from Jiyaguda, who was referred from a private hospital and admitted to Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday. He was suffering from diabetes and hypertension as well.

The migrants included 12 from Yadadri and two from Jagtial. Till date, 25 migrants have tested positive for COVID-19, the bulletin said, adding that as of now, there were 472 active cases in the State, with the total number of discharged patients being 822. Telangana had so far reported 1,326 positive



cases and 32 deaths.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has instructed the State health officials to ensure that all the asymptomatic migrants arriving in the State through various points of entry are quarantined at home and in government quarantine facilities. The symptomatic migrants will be isolated for diagnostic test and for further course of action.

The general public have been requested to inform the local authorities in case they identify any new persons or migrants who have recently arrived in the towns and villages. To screen the migrants entering into the State, 275 health teams have been deployed at 87 check posts in the border districts.

About 1,000 health personnel are working in these teams. In the last 14 days, not a single Coronavirus positive case has been reported in 26 districts of Telangana State.
