Telangana sees 1,430 new infections of COVID-19, tally mounts to 47,705

Telangana recorded 1,430 new Covid-19 infections and seven fatalities on Tuesday, which has taken the toll so far to 429 and the cumulative number of positive cases since the outbreak of the pandemic to 47,705.

In the last 24-hours, according to the daily health bulletin, 2,062 persons have recovered, which has pushed the recoveries to 36,385 with a recovery rate of 74 per cent while the number of active cases as on Tuesday in the State is 10,891.

Covid-19 infections, areas under GHMC reported 703 positive cases while 117 cases were reported from Rangareddy and 105 from Medchal. The three districts have continued to remain the top three, in terms of number of Covid-19 positive cases.

According to health authorities, on Tuesday about 16,855 samples were tested out of which 1,430 tested positive with a positivity rate of 8.5 per cent. The mortality rate in the State continues to remain below one per cent at 0.8 per cent, the health bulletin said.
