While the threat of the Omicron variant has abated with the swift drop of daily Covid infections, there has been no let up in the intensity of the Covid vaccination drive in Telangana.
As of Thursday, a total of 14 districts have completed 100 per cent vaccination, which means all the eligible individuals above 18 years in these districts, are fully vaccinated and have received the first and second dose of Covid vaccine.
The districts that achieved 100 per cent Covid vaccination include Jangaon, Karimnagar, Medak, Hanmakonda, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhongir, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Rangareddy, Mahabubabad,
Mahabubnagar, Rajanna Siricilla, Warangal and Mancherial.
There are four other districts – Nalgonda, Adilabad, Jagtiyal and Mulugu that have achieved more than 95 per cent of vaccination.
Out of the 2,77,67,000 eligible individuals above 18 years in Telangana, a total of 2,93,03,306 (108 per cent) have received the first dose while 2,59,01,806 (93 per cent) have received the first and second dose of Covid vaccine. In 15 years to 17 years category, out of the 18,41,000 eligible youngsters, 15,53,897 (84 per cent) have received the first dose while 8,72,576 (47 per cent) have received the second dose of Covid vaccine.
