In Gujarat, as many as 79 patients were discharged from hospital during the last 24 hours. With fresh 217 cases, total COVID-19 cases in the state rose to 2,524.
Meanwhile, the curfew has been lifted from parts of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, and Surat from today morning.
Out of the 217 fresh cases, 151 cases were reported from Ahmedabad while 41 cases from Surat. Nine deaths were reported in the state yesterday taking the total death toll to 112. Principal Secretary of Department of Health Dr Jayanti Ravi said, the in view of the rising cases, government will continue the strategy of aggressive
testing.
So far, the state has ensured 10,000 bed capacity for COVID-19 patients. State DGP Shivanand Jha said, so far 22 people have been booked under PASA in connection with six separate cases of alleged attacks on government officials.
Meanwhile, to ease industrial operations during the lockdown, the State Government has allowed the export-oriented firms located in city areas and having pending order to resume operations from 25th April. However, the decision will not be applicable to the firms located in containment zones of the city.
