Telangana reported 21 fresh Corona cases on Sunday. With this, the number of positive cases has risen to 1082.

While 508 active cases undergoing treatment in hospitals, 46 have fully recovered and discharged on Sunday.

The number of recovered persons surpassed the number of patients currently undergoing treatment in the state.

In a positive development for Telangana state, the total number of recovered COVID-19 patients became higher than those currently undergoing treatment. Following discharge of 46 persons from hospital on Sunday, total recoveries in Telangana stands at 545 while active cases are 508.

The capital city of Hyderabad has been the worst affected in the state, as it has the highest cases among all 33



districts.

Among those who were discharged on Sunday was a 69-year-old patient, who was admitted with bilateral pneumonitis and was also in the intensive care unit for 14 days.

Meanwhile, the medical data available with the state has revealed that about 40 per cent of COVID-19 patients are in the age group of 21-40 years.

While 9 per cent are infants and children below 10 years of age, 9 per cent are aged above 60 years.

The data also indicated that 13 per cent of the cases are youth below 20 years and 29 per cent are from the age group of 41-60 years.

Among the total 1082 cases, women are 33.5 per cent while their male counterparts are double at 66.5 per cent.
