New Delhi: In a landmark achievement, India has administered more than one crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine yesterday. The Union Health Ministry said, this feat has been achieved thrice in the last 11 days. India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 69 crore 68 lakh yesterday.
The Ministry said, over 53 crore vaccine doses have been administered as first dose and over 16 crore vaccine doses given as second doses. The new phase
of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st of June this year.
Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said that the month of September has started on a high note as India touched one crore COVID-19 vaccinations yesterday. In a tweet, Mr Mandaviya said, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the world's largest vaccination drive is scaling massive heights.
