Woman with COVID-19 positive gives birth to twins at Gandhi Hospital

A 20-year-old coronavirus positive woman from Medchal has given birth to twin female babies, after successfully undergoing emergency caesarean section at Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday. The twins weighing 2.5 kilograms and 2 kilograms each are in excellent health condition.

Authorities in a day or two are expected to conduct the mandatory coronavirus tests to ascertain Covid-19 status of the



twins.

The pregnant woman, who was earlier admitted to Niloufer Hospital, had tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday and was immediately shifted to Gandhi Hospital. The team of obstetrics and gynaecologists from Gandhi Hospital decided to conduct the cesarean section on Tuesday evening.

Superintendent, Gandhi Hospital, Dr. Raja Rao congratulated the team of doctors for performing the cesarean section.
