New Delhi: India’s Covid vaccination coverage has reached nearly 175 crore mark. Union Health Ministry said that more than 32 lakh doses of vaccine were administered till 7 pm yesterday. In the age group of 15 to 18 years old, more than five crore 34 lakh Vaccine doses have been administered as first dose and two crore six lakh as second dose so far. More than one crore 86 lakh Precaution Doses have been administered so far.
Meanwhile, Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has said that 80 percent of eligible adult population in the country has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. In a tweet, he said, India has crossed the
historic milestone of administering both doses of vaccine to 80 per cent of its eligible adult population.
Dr Mandaviya said, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, with the motto of 'sabka prayas, India is fast moving towards achieving 100 percent vaccination.
The development comes amid the waning third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, which was driven by the Omicron variant. The Union government has already advised states and union territories to lift the remaining restrictions as the situation has immensely improved across the country.
