Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several health projects and launched new initiatives of over Rs 12,855 crore for boosting India's healthcare sector on Tuesday on the 9th Ayurveda Day, held at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA).
He highlighted the government's dedication to advancing healthcare through five main pillars: preventive healthcare, early diagnosis, affordable treatment, medical infrastructure in smaller towns, and technology
integration.
PM Modi announced numerous key projects, including the expansion of AIIMS facilities in states like Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh, and the inauguration of medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh.
The Prime Minister highlighted the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which covers hospital costs up to Rs 5 lakh for economically disadvantaged families. This scheme has benefited over four crore individuals, providing essential treatments without financial burden.
