If you needed any more proof that our growing obsession with phones can lead to trouble, a study published in the journal Addictive Behaviour stated that smartphones have the same effect on your brain as some of the most infamous drugs and
narcotics.
Talking about the real dangers of unhealthy smartphone addiction, Dr. Shaunak Ajinkya, Consultant, Psychiatrist at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital said:
"Smartphone addiction is characterised by excessive dependence on a gadget or a virtual screen. If it is interfering with your personal life, or you get this habit of picking up your phone every time you are "bored", you are at the risk of developing an unhealthy disorder. They can be more dangerous than we think. Excessive usage can lead to anxiety, mood disorders, sleep deprivation and make it difficult to manage normal relationships.
