The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Punjab co-in-charge, Raghav Chadha, on Thursday said that the party had become a national force and in the future would become the Congress party's national and natural replacement.
"Today's an important day in India's history, not only because AAP is winning one more state, but because it has become a national force. In the future, Arvind Kejriwal will be BJP's principal challenger and AAP will become Congress's replacement," he said.
AAP has crossed the majority mark in the early trends in the 117-seat Punjab assembly election. The party's CM candidate Bhagwant Mann is leading in Dhuri .
Raghav Chadha also said that they were "aam aadmi' but when "aam aadmi" rises,
the mightiest of thrones shake.
"In the last 50 years, these parties have looted the people, brought Punjab under a huge debt and got the youth addicted to drugs. People have had to leave the country and go abroad to work. Farmers have been committing suicide. It is a very bad situation," he said.
Chadha said that the people now wanted to remove the current leaders in the state and bring in honest people. "The people want to bring in the pair of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann."
He said that when people have options available, they will always go for the alternative. "AAP is an option not only in Punjab, but is also a national alternative," he said.
