Campaigning for the fifth phase of assembly elections in West Bengal will come to an end this afternoon following Election Commission's order.
 
The ECI had increased the silence period to 72 hours for this phase.
 
Polling will be held on 17th of this month in 45 seats across six districts in this phase.
 
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to address rallies in Darjeeling and North Dinajpur today.
 
This is going to be the first campaign of the top leadership of the party in the state.

parties are also busy in campaigns.
 
On the other hand Trinamool Congress leader Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be taking part in rallies at Jalpaiguri and Nadia districts today.
 
She was banned from any kind of campaigning for 24 hours by the ECI for violating the MCC.
 
She is also scheduled to meet the families of the deceased in Coochbehar today.
 
BJP president JP Nadda, union ministers Smriti Irani, Babul Supriyo and Mithun Chakraborty will also be holding road shows and meetings today.
