Shillong: The poll campaigning for Meghalaya Assembly Elections will end this evening, February 25. The polling will be held on Monday.
With the public campaigning for Assembly elections to end at 4 pm today, political parties were racing against time to organise programmes for connecting with the electors during the last few hours. All the major parties have been making arrangements to end the high-pitched finale of election campaigning on a high note.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa addressed an election meeting at Bholaganj in the Shella constituency last evening in support of BJP candidate. BJP parliament member Margherita was also present.

Sangma visited Niksenggittim in his South Tura Constituency and interacted with the people. Party General Secretary Mehtab Chandee A Sangma also was present. TMC state leaders held multiple election rallies across the state.
Meanwhile, the ban on exit polls came into being in Meghalaya. The office of the Chief Electoral Officer informed that it will continue till 7 pm on Monday.
In another development, East Khasi Hills district magistrate, Sibhi Chakravarthy Sadhu imposed Section 144 and issued a notice strictly restricting the movement of individuals within one km radius of the Indo-Bangladesh border of the district. The restrictions will continue till the 2nd of March.
