New Delhi: Campaigning for elections of Delhi Municipal Corporation has intensified for 250 Wards. Various political parties including BJP, AAP and congress are campaigning and holding road shows in various parts of the city in favour of their party candidates. A total of 1349 candidates are in the fray for MCD elections.
BJP and AAP are contesting on all 250 seats while Congress is contesting on 247 seats as nominations of three candidates were rejected. Union Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh participated in ‘Vijay Sankalp’ roadshow at Uttam Nagar in West Delhi while BJP President J P Nadda held road show in Sangam Vihar. Union Ministers Dr Jitendra Singh and Meenakashi Lekhi also held road
show in Greater Kailash area.
Aam Aadmi Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal interacted with the people in Paharganj area while party leader Manish Sisodia also participated with people in a public interaction programme in Dwarka area.
Leaders from Congress also sought votes in favour of their candidates during election campaign in Delhi. Delhi Congress Chief Anil Chaudhary inaugurated the election office of party candidate Ratna Sharma who is contesting from Patparganj Ward.
250 wards of MCD will go to polls on 4th of December while the counting of votes will take place on 7th December.
