In West Bengal, campaigning is in full force for the by-poll at Bhabanipur and polling at Shamshergunj and Jangipur Assembly Constituencies. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Leader of Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Subhendu Adhikari took part in campaigning for BJP candidate Priyanka Tibrewal yesterday. On the other hand,
Trinamool Congress candidate Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed voters at a meeting while State Minister Firhad Hakim took part
in door to door campaigning in favour of the party supremo. Left Front candidate Srijib Biswas also campaigned in the constituency which goes to by-poll on 30th of this month.
Meanwhile, BJP has requested the Election Commission to remove some officers of Kolkata Police from poll-related duties and to institute appropriate proceedings for allegedly restricting the party candidate from campaigning near the residence of the Chief Minister.
