In Kerala, campaigning is in full swing in the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency and also in the two Assembly constituencies of Chelakkara (Reserved) and Palakkad, where by-polls are scheduled to take place on the 13th of next month.
Congress candidate Priyanka Gandhi, who is contesting from Wayanad will file her nomination papers from the constituency today. She will hold a roadshow before filing her papers and will be accompanied by the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and former Wayanad MP, Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, party leader Sonia Gandhi and other state leaders.
NDA’s Navya Haridas and LDF candidate Sathyan Mokeri will file their nomination papers
on Thursday. In Chelakkara reserved constituency and Palakkad, candidates of the three major fronts UDF, LDF and the NDA, will be filing their nomination papers from tomorrow onwards.
In Chelakkara reserved constituency, the Congress has fielded former MP Remya Haridas, the LDF, U R Pradeep and the NDA, K Balakrishnan. The UDF has fielded Rahul Mamkoottathil of the Congress in Palakkad, the LDF Dr P Sarin, while the NDA, BJP State General Secretary C Krishnakumar.
The last date for the filing of nominations is on the 25th of this month. The scrutiny will take place on the 28th and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is on the 30th of this month.
