Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday said that Delhi needs a double-engine government for the rapid development of the national capital. Addressing a public meeting in Dwarka, New Delhi yesterday, Mr. Modi said, the people of Delhi need a government which fulfils their aspirations, like building houses for the poor, making Delhi modern, and providing tap water to every household. He accused the AAP-led Delhi government of corruption and looting the people for fighting elections in other states.

He said that if BJP comes to power, Delhi will not just be a model for the capital but also for the rural areas. He claimed that in the first sitting of the Assembly, after the BJP comes to power, the CAG report will be tabled, where the corruption details of the current government will be stated.

The Prime Minister guaranteed that promises made to people by the BJP would be fulfilled in a time-bound manner. He assured that all pending work of the past 11 years will be completed. Mr. Modi also criticised AAP’s remarks on pollution in the Yamuna River. The prime

minister termed the allegations as baseless.

On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party Convener Arvind Kejriwal claimed that a family in Delhi with 18 members saved 50 thousand rupees per month by availing of different schemes being offered by the AAP government in the national capital. While campaigning for the party at Gandhi Nagar, he hit out at BJP, saying that all welfare schemes initiated by AAP would be discontinued. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a roadshow at Rohtas Nagar Assembly Constituency campaigning for the Aam Aadmi Party.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi held a roadshow at Nangloi Jat in New Delhi. Senior Congress Leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi addressed a public meeting in Madipur Constituency today. He hit out at AAP over the Yamuna issue and accused the BJP of spreading hatred among people. Besides, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also campaigned for BJP at the National Capital.
