Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party announces new policies every hour out of frustration. Addressing a public meeting in RK Puram, Delhi, Mr. Modi claimed that AAP is so shocked that it is resorting to false announcements.
He also alleged that the party has wasted the past 11 years, and has not done any development work. He asserted that the BJP will form the government in Delhi and the double-engine government will not waste its time fighting. He said that whether poor or middle class, Delhi will get such a double engine government that will ensure a happy life for every family. He said that instead of making excuses, all the energy will be put in building and improving Delhi.
Talking about AAP leaders leaving the party, Mr Modi alleged that it is because they know that the people hate the party. He claimed that the party has been exposed in front of the public. The Prime Minister added that Delhi helped form a stable BJP government at the Centre for the next five years, and now, even by mistake, an AAP government should not be formed here which would ruin another five years of the national capital.
Talking about the Union budget that was announced yesterday, Mr Modi said that it has fulfilled his guarantee to strengthen the four pillars for building Viksit Bharat, namely – farmers, youth, poor and women. He also said that the entire middle class is
saying that this budget is the friendliest budget for them in history. He added that the government’s decision to eliminate income tax on income upto 12 lakh rupees will save thousands of rupees of middle class people.
Speaking about the economy, Mr Modi mentioned that in the past 10 years, India’s economy has jumped from 10th position to 5th position. He added that the economic strength of the country, the size of the economy and the income of the citizens are increasing. He said that the BJP led Union government is investing every single penny for the welfare of the country and the welfare of the people
In addition, Senior BJP Leader and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw participated in a door-to-door campaign. He told the media that Delhi’s harmony, culture and historic tradition has to be revived and people have made up their mind to vote for BJP to make Delhi developed.
Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party Convenor Arvind Kejriwal wrote to the Chief Election Commissioner, demanding action against BJP workers and Delhi police officers alleging that they had attacked his party workers. Addressing the media, Mr. Kejriwal claimed that AAP workers in the New Delhi Assembly were being intimidated and harassed by BJP workers.
Elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held on Wednesday, and the counting of votes will take place on the 8th of this month.
