In Kerala, 149 candidates filed their nominations on Thursday, the last day of filing nominations. This include 14 nominations from Attingal, 12 from Kozhikode, 11 from Thiruvananthapuram and 10 from PPonnani constituencies. With this, a total of 303 candidates have filed nominations in Kerala for 20 Loksabha constituencies. Kerala goes to polls on 23rd April during the third phase of elections.
The scrutiny of the nominations are progressing in the State. Of the 303 nominations filed, most number are from Wayanad and Attingal constituencies, where 23 candidates each
have filed nominations.
The least number is from Idukki, that is 9. Yesterday Congress president Rahul Gandhi filed nomination from Wayanad. Sitting MP and NDA candidate Suresh Gopi filed nomination from Chalakudy.
NDA candidate K Surendran who is contesting from Pathanamthitta and filed nomination yesterday. Meanwhile, UDF candidate from Chalakkudy Mr Benny Behanan has been admitted in a private hospital in Kochi due to chest pain. As per doctors , the health condition of Mr Behnan is stable.
