BJD finalises candidates for 1st phase of Lok Sabha, Assembly polls

Ruling BJD has finalised the candidates for the first phase of Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha. 

54 names have been cleared for Assembly and 9 for Lok Sabha constituencies. 

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will contest from Hinjali and Bijepur Assembly constituencies. 

Odisha State Congress



has also cleated 6 names for Lok Sabha and 36 names for Assembly seats for the first phase of polling. 

On the first day of filing of nomination, four candidates submitted nomination papers for different Assembly seats. 

Polling for the first phase will be held on 11th April.
