Campaigning for the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections has reached its peak as it comes to a close tomorrow evening.
59 constituencies, spread over 7 states, will go to the polls in this phase on Sunday. Voting in this phase will take place for 14 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Haryana, 8 seats each in West Bengal, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, 7 in Delhi and 4 seats in Jharkhand.
Star campaigners of various political parties are holding rallies and road shows in different parts of the country to woo the voters.
Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold rallies at Bankura and Purulia in West Bengal today. He will also address three public meetings in the Purvanchal region of Uttar Pradesh.
In Madhya Pradesh, a total of 138 candidates are in the fray for this phase. Senior
leaders of different political parties will hold rallies in favour of their party candidates.
Meanwhile, in Bihar, Election Commission has suspended Sector Magistrate of Muzaffarpur district for dereliction of duty during fifth phase polling on 6th May. Earlier, four police officials of the district were suspended in this regard. Some EVMs were found in a community hall on the polling day.
In Jharkhand, the election for four Parliamentary Constituencies - Dhanbad, Jamshedpur, Chaibasa and Giridih will take place on Sunday.
In Himachal Pradesh, a total of 45 candidates are in the fray for four Lok Sabha seats - Shimla, Mandi, Kangra and Hamirpur, which will go to polls in the final phase.
The counting of votes will be held on 23rd of this month.
