DMK-led alliance in Tamil Nadu has announced the Lok Sabha seats where the coalition parties will contest the elections.
DMK President MK Stalin, flanked by the alliance leaders, released the list this morning at his party headquarters Anna Arivalayam.
Mr Stalin said the coalition will be known as Secular Democratic Alliance in the state and neighbouring Puducherry.
The DMK would contest all three seats in Chennai. It will also field its candidates in 17 other seats in the state, covering most of northern parts of the state.
Congress
would contest in ten seats including Kanyakumari, Sivaganga, the home constituency of ex-Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Puducherry.
Vaiko-led MDMK has been allocated Erode constituency, besides a Rajya Sabha seat when it gets vacant from the state.
CPI (M) will field its candidates in Madurai and Coimbatore. CPI will contests in Nagappattinam and Tiruppur. Indian Union Muslim League has been given Ramanathapuram, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi the two reserved seats of Chidambaram and Villupuram, three other parties have been given one seat each.
