Thiruvananthapuram: A total of 149 candidates, including Congress president Rahul Gandhi, filed their nomination papers Thursday for the April 23 Lok Sabha polls in Kerala - the last day for filing of papers.
Gandhi, accompanied by his sister and AICC secretary for eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, filed the nomination at the district collectorate at Kalpetta in Wayanad.
Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi, the BJP candidate from Thrissur, also filed his
nomination.
A third gender candidate filed nomination from the Ernakulam parliamentary constituency.
Solar scam accused Saritha S Nair filed papers from Wayanad and Ernakulam constituencies.
So far, 303 candidates have filed nomination for the 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state.
The scrutiny of nominations would be held Friday and the last date of withdrawal is April 8.
