Chennai: O Panneerselvam, former chief minister, has appealed to the AIADMK MLAs to vote according to the dictates of the conscience when the trust motion will be brought up in Tamil Nadu Assembly on Saturday. OPS said, ‘We woe everything to Amma.’ He said he cannot allow the party go into the hands of Amma’s enemies who were responsible for her death.
M Stalin, the acting president of DMK, has declared that his party MLAs numbering 89 would vote against the confidence motion. He advised CM E
Palaniswamy not to smile at him since that would make Sasikala suspicious of him. Panneerselvam has ten MLAs with him. Even then, Chief Minister E Palaniswamy (EP) has more than enough numbers. In the House of 235 members 118 is simple majority. EP has the backing of 124 members, six more than required.
OPS said there are at least ten MLAs who are willing to vote against the motion. He requested the Election Commission to organise a secret ballot. Stalin also made a similar request.
