BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a public meeting at Shivamogga in Karnataka on Sunday. Expressing gratitude towards the people of Bengaluru for turning up into huge numbers in his road show, Mr Modi said immense love and trust shown by the people of Bengaluru had touched his heart and he will forever be indebted to Karnataka.
Questioning the credibility of the Congress, Mr. Modi said it can never fulfill promises made in its manifesto. Calling the Congress’ promise of giving 10 lakh jobs in the next five years, Mr. Modi said it is a blatant lie. He added that during its 3.5 years of governance in Karnataka, BJP has created 13 lakh formal jobs every year.
Mr. Modi warned the people of Karnataka that Congress’ policies will ruin the ecosystem of investment in the State. Highlighting India’s achievements in the field of agriculture, the Prime
Minister said, India is now amongst top ten agriculture exporter countries.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi addressed a public meeting at Moodabidri in Karnataka. She termed the issues raised by the BJP in the campaign as irrelevant. Mrs. Gandhi said the real issues in Karnataka are inflation, unemployment and rampant corruption. Charging BJP of ruining the industry sector in Karnataka, she said the BJP government has brought a culture of corruption in the state.
She alleged that the Chief Ministers of BJP have siphoned off the public money during their rule in the last 3.5 years. Reiterating the promises made by the party in its manifesto, she said the Congress has fulfilled its promises in Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh and the party will also fulfill them in Karnataka. Mrs. Gandhi urged the public to vote with full consciousness on 10th May.
