Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi yesterday alleged that the I.N.D.I.A bloc prioritizes its families over the nation. Addressing an election rally in Mahendragarh, Haryana, Mr. Modi claimed that the INDIA bloc had already lost the election in the first five phases and had started resorting to various baseless allegations including questioning the Election Commission’s data and EVMs. He also criticized the Congress party accusing it of betraying ex-servicemen by denying them One Rank One Pension (OROP) for decades.
Mr. Modi said that his government spent over 1.25 lakh crore rupees to ensure OROP
is implemented.
On Wednesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally in the same constituency and accused the BJP of insulting the Indian Army with its Agniveer scheme. Mr. Gandhi said that the I.N.D.I.A. bloc would scrap the scheme if voted to power.
The BJP has fielded sitting MP Dharamvir Choudhary from the seat again while Congress has given a ticket to its MLA Rao Dan Singh. Jannayak Janta Party candidate Rao Bahadur Singh is trying hard to make the contest triangular on this seat.
