Political advertisements on social media in all poll bound states, including Chhattisgarh, can be released only after obtaining prior approval from Media certification and monitoring committee -MCMC. 

Election commission’s Director General, Communications Dhirendra Ojha had a video conferencing with MCMC members in all districts of Chhattisgarh to apprise them about the guidelines. 

Meanwhile, election officials in Raipur has issued notice to state



agriculture minister and BJP candidate from Raipur (South) Brijmohan Agrawal and other BJP candidate Devji Bhai Patel for a social media post finding that it fell under the purview of violation of model code of conduct. 

Similarly, a notice has been issued to Raipur west Congress candidate Vikas Upadhyaya for releasing social media advertisements without prior approval from the media certification and monitoring committee.
