The campaign for the 70-member Delhi Assembly is in full swing. Prominent leaders of major political parties are conducting public meetings, roadshows, and rallies to seek votes in favor of their party candidates. Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday addressed public meetings in the Rohini and Wazirpur areas.

Addressing a gathering in Rohini, Mr. Shah promised that two thousand five hundred rupees would be given to the women of the city if voted to power. He added that every pregnant woman would receive twenty-one thousand rupees and LPG cylinders would be made available to Delhi residents for five hundred rupees. Mr. Shah also accused AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal of making allegations about poisoning the Yamuna River to win the election. He also questioned Mr. Kejriwal on the issue of cleanliness in the city.

Addressing a rally in Krishnagar, BJP President J.P. Nadda alleged that AAP has created nothing but chaos over the last ten years. He added that they did not take advantage of any central government schemes and misled the people of Delhi. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked Mr. Kejriwal on issues including pollution in the Yamuna River, the alleged liquor scam, and others. Addressing a rally in the Badli area, Mr. Gandhi also accused the AAP Convenor of engaging in corruption during their tenure.

Meanwhile, AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal accused the Congress party of working with the BJP to ensure his party’s defeat in the assembly polls. Addressing the media, he urged Congress workers not to vote for the Congress party, claiming they are collaborating with the BJP.

Senior AAP leader and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also addressed several public meetings and held roadshows in the city.

Speaking alongside party candidate and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi in the Amritpuri area, Mr. Mann said that AAP has fulfilled the promises made during the elections. He cited examples such as free electricity, free water, and improved infrastructure for schools and hospitals. Several other prominent leaders from the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party are actively campaigning in different parts of the city.

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Rajnath Singh claimed that BJP is the only party in the country which fulfils its promises. Addressing an election meeting in Vishwas Nagar assembly constituency in the national capital, Mr Singh accused AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal of misusing the trust placed by the people on him. He alleged that the AAP government in Delhi has failed to transform the national capital inspite of being in power in ten years.
