In the Union Territory of Puducherry the All India N R Congress has declared party chief N Rangasamy as the party’s chief ministerial candidate. A resolution to this effect was adopted at an emergency executive committee meeting of the party.
It may be noted that there was no official announcement on Chief Ministerial candidate even when the alliance and number of seats of each parties were finalised. BJP in charge of Puducherry Nirmal Kumar Surana answering a question at a press conference said that the legislature party will decide the chief ministerial
candidate.
And now Surana refused to comment on the N R Congress announcing Rangasamy as the chief ministerial candidate. He said that the alliance was forged and Rangasamy is an experienced man, a former chief minister and in his experience, we are fighting the elections accepting his leadership,he said. He denied that there is any problem in finalizing the seats with the AIADMK also. He clarified that PMK is still in their alliance and talks are on with them.
But PMK already declared that they will contest 12 constituencies in Puducherry and 3 in Karaikal Independently.
