With campaigning at fever pitch, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's has now taken a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi using a new ad of the Gujarat government that features Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
At an election rally in Rae Bareli on Monday, Akhilesh asked Amitabh Bachchan to stop endorsing 'donkeys of Gujarat'.
“Ek gadhe ka vigyapan aata hai, main iss sadi ke sabse bade mahanayak se kahunge ke ab aap Gujarat ke gadhon ka prachar mat kariye (I would urge the Superstar of the Century-Amitabh-to stop advertising for donkeys of Gujarat),” Yadav reportedly said.

His comments after the release of an advertisement by Gujarat Tourism which shows Bachchan (Gujarat's brand ambassador) promoting the Wild Ass Wildlife Sanctuary located in the Little Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.
Incidentally, Yadav's father, Mulayam, was once very close to Bachchan and the actor's wife, Jaya, is presently representing the Samajwadi Party in the Rajya Sabha.
