Campaigning for the third phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections ends this evening. 69 constituencies, spread over 12 districts, will go to polls in this phase on Sunday. The districts include Lucknow, Etawah, Kanpur, Barabanki, Auraiya, Mainpuri and Sitapur.
Top leaders of various political parties addressed rallies in different areas yesterday to woo the voters. Prime Minister and BJP leader Narendra Modi addressed public meetings at Barabanki and Hardoi and targeted the
Samajwadi government for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
Addressing a rally in Mainpuri, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav questioned the Prime Minister about the black money collected post demonetisation. A number of rallies by top leaders are also scheduled for today. Scrutiny of nominations will be held today for the seventh and final phase. 40 seats of the 403-member UP Assembly will go to polls in the final phase on the 8th of next month.
