CEC Nasim Zaidi to visit Lucknow to review poll preparedness

Chief Election Commissioner   Naseem  Zaidi along with two other Election Commissioners and officials will visit Lucknow for two days from Wednesday to review the poll preparedness of  122 assembly seats going to polls in the third and fourth phase of elections in UP on February 19 and 23.

Chief electoral officer  of UP, T Vekentesh said here  on Tuesday that the full Election Commission would meet the representatives of the political parties  on Wednesday soon after  arriving here from New Delhi .  After meeting the representatives of political



parties, the EC will hold meeting with the nodal officers of different enforcement agencies and it will be followed by a meeting with the state chief secretary and other senior state officials.

Next day, February 9, the EC would review the poll preparedness with the district officials of the 25 districts going to polls in third and fourth phase. In the meeting all the district magistrates and district police chiefs, Divisional Commissioners, DIGs and zonal IGs of the 25 districts would be present.  Later the CEC will address a press conference before leaving for New Delhi on Thursday.
