Varanasi: The 3rd Khelo India University Games will conclude on Saturday evening. The Valedictory function will be held at the Techno Stadium Pavilion Ground of IIT BHU in Varanasi. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur along with Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Nishith Pramanik will take part in the concluding ceremony.
Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar narrowed the gap with leaders Panjab University, Chandigarh by picking up four golds on the penultimate day of the 3rd Khelo Indian University Games 2022 Uttar Pradesh (UP), being held across four cities of the state. GNDU athletes won one gold in Boxing, two in Fencing and one in Judo to end
the day with 22 golds. They are now four behind Punjabi University's gold tally and with eight more golds in Fencing, Judo, Yogasana and Weightlifting still to be won on the final day of competitions today, the race to the top is still on.
The Punjab University Chandigarh is on top of the medal tally with 26 gold, 16 silver and 24 bronze. The Guru Nanak Dev University of Amritsar is in 2nd place with 22 gold, 26 silver and 17 bronze. While Jain University Karnataka is in 3rd place with a total of 29 medals including 16 gold, 19 silver and 6 bronze and Punjab University Patiala is in 4th place with a total of 29 medals including 12 gold, 14 silver and 8 bronze.
