Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur yesterday felicitated the team of Women's World Boxing Championship winners and Indian Archery Team at Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi. On this occasion, Mr. Thakur said that it is a proud moment for the country that India won one gold and two bronze medals in Women Boxing Championship. He said, Indian men's team also got gold medal in the Archery.
Mr. Thakur said that India needs to establish an ecosystem to promote sports in the country and Union Government is working in this
direction. The Minister said that the next Olympic games will be held after two years and players should only focus on their goals.
Recently, three Indian women boxers made the country proud in the Women's World Boxing Championship-winning two bronze medals and one gold. Boxing player Nikhat Zareen won the gold medal while Manisha Moun and Parveen Hooda settled for the bronze. In the Archery games, Indian men's team got gold medal in the in successive World Cup stages.
