The newly elected
President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India Mr. Anurag Thakur has
said that he will work towards strengthening the transparency accountability
and professionalism within the board and overall cricket administration in the
country.
In his first address to media after assuming the charge of the country’s cricketing body President, Mr. Thakur said that the main emphasis of his administration would be to continue to bring transparency in all the activities of the board and using all the form of social media to keep the people informed about various initiatives considered by the board.
Speaking about the
Lodha Committee recommendations Mr. Thakur said that BCCI is in
continues
process for reforms with respect to Lodha committee's recommendation and the
board has started implementing them on its own.
The youngest BCCI Chief has assured that the BCCI would take every necessary step to make Indian Cricket team number one in the International Test, One Day and T20 format of Cricket. Besides he also said that emphasis would also be to encourage women cricket in the country.He said that that the board is emphasizing on reform and social responsibility.
Anurag Thakur was appointed as the new president of BCCI in a Special General Meeting of the Board held in Mumbai this morning. Mumbai Cricket Association president Ajay Shirke was appointed as the BCCI secretary.
