Hangzhou: On the 9th day of the Asian Games 2023 at Hangzhou, India’s Kabaddi campaign kicks off today with the women’s team facing Chinese Taipei in its first group game. Table tennis women’s doubles duo Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee will face North Korea in the semi-finals today.
Athletics will be in focus after Indian track and field stars won nine medals yesterday. India's Tejaswin Shankar, a high jump national record holder, finishes 4th in the 100-meter event. Amlan Borgohain, in men’s 200m, and the Indian mixed 4x400m quartet will run for glory today.
The Indian men’s hockey team will aim for five wins in five as
they take on Bangladesh in the final Pool A match today. India vs DPR Korea is also on the agenda in the women’s basketball quarter-final. Indians will also contest in four canoeing medal events today.
Medals are also on offer in the equestrian jumping team and individual final. Archery, bridge, chess, diving, kurash, roller skating, sepaktakraw and squash will also feature Indian athletes. Meanwhile, in the skating, India's men and women teams, bagged a bronze medals this morning.
So far, India is 4th in the medal tally, with 55 medals including 13 Gold, 21 Silver & 21 Bronze.
