After some jaw-dropping matches in the first round, the Australian Open is set for the round 2 matches. World No.1 Iga Swiatek and winner of 22 Grand Slam titles, Rafael Nadal, will be in action.
Swiatek looked a tad out of sorts in his first round match, but managed to win in straight sets. The 21-year-old’s best performance at Melbourne Park came when she advanced to the semis. The Polish star will be looking to go a couple of steps ahead and win the trophy.
No.2 seed Rafael Nadal will lock horns with Mackenzie McDonald of
the United States of America in the morning session at the Rod Laver Arena. In the men’s draw, the likes of Daniil Medvedev and Stefansos Tsitsipas will also be in action.
The focus will also be on the match between Coco Gauff and Emma Raducanu that will be played in the latter half of the day at the Rod Laver Arena. Raducanu and Gauff are yet to face each other at the highest level.
Danielle Collins, Jessica Pegula and 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina are the other players to watch out for on Day 2 of the Australian Open.
