In Tokyo Paralympics, Bhavina Hasmukhbhai Patel yesterday defeated Great Britain’s Megan Shackleton in Women’s singles Class 4 round of table tennis. She won the match 11-7, 9-11, 17-15,13-11. Bhavina lost her first match 3-11, 9-11, 2-11 against Zhou Ying of China on Wednesday.
In yesterday’s another match, Sonalben Madhubhai Patel will clash with Lee Mi-gyu of South Korea in the Women’s singles class 3 group. Sonalben had also lost her first match 11-9, 3-11, 17-15, 7-11 and 4-11 against Li Quan of China.
There will be a number of matches from India’s perspective tomorrow from archery to shot put to swimming. Archers Harvinder Singh and Vivek Chikara will start their campaign in Men’s Recurve
Individual Open round while archers Rakesh Kumar and Shyam Sundar Swami will kick off their campaign in Men’s Compound Individual Open round. In the Women’s Compound Individual Open, Jyoti Baliyan will showcase her skills. In the Mixed team compound ranking round, Jyoti, Rakesh and Shyam Sundar will present India’s challenge.
In powerlifting, Jaideep Deswal will be in action in Men’s 65 kg category while Sakina Khatun will participate in the Women’s 50 kg category. Swimmer Suyash Jadhav will be India’s bet in the 200 Individual Medley SM7 round. In another track and field event, T.C. Tek Chand will represent India in the finals of Men’s shot put F55 category.
