Indian badminton players HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen have made significant advancements in the BWF world rankings. Prannoy climbed one spot to secure the ninth position, and Sen improved two places to claim the 11th spot. These impressive jumps were a result of their semifinal performances at the Japan Open Super 750 badminton tournament, where they displayed remarkable skills but lost in hard-fought matches against Denmark's Viktor Axelsen and Indonesia's Jonatan Christie in Tokyo.
Former world number one, Kidambi Srikanth, also saw an improvement in his ranking, moving up one spot to settle at 19th position. Another notable advancement was made by national
champion Mithun Manjunath, who climbed four places to secure 50th position.
On the other hand, PV Sindhu, the double Olympic medallist, maintained her position at the 17th spot in the latest rankings. Similarly, the men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty retained their impressive world number 2 position in the chart.
Among the Indian women's doubles pairs, Treesa Jolly along with Gayatri Gopichand, also demonstrated remarkable progress, moving up two spots to secure the 17th position in the world rankings. These achievements highlight the continued growth and potential of Indian badminton players on the international stage.
